The World Council have advised the preferred grouping of championships for 2013 which would group the World Laser 4.7 Youth Championship with the World Laser Standard Junior Championship, and would welcome bids from the preferred region - Europe.
A successful bid would be either from a host club that could cater for all of the championships or from a group of host clubs in the same area, that could cater for the grouped championships. Grouped championships could run in any number of successive weeks, with or without time in between the championships. Where a group of host clubs propose to work together, the distance between clubs will be taken into consideration as the economic and time costs involved in transporting boats between clubs may affect the maximum use of consecutive charters. The responsibility of transporting and storing charter boats between championships lies with the host clubs and should be included in any budget calculation. Also, it is not viable for charter boats to be left for any extended period of time in between the championships.
Any club who would like to submit a bid for a championship but is not located in Europe should contact the ILCA office before proceeding.
