The Requirements Document (below) gives details for the organisation for a Laser Masters European Championship(LEC). Intended to assist you in the preparation, planning and making a bid to host the LEC - you will find included information guidelines and requirements.
The Laser Masters European Championship is a popular event that has grown significantly in recent years. In principle this is an open event with an optional charter and an age limitation requiring entrants to be 35 years or older in the year of the event. Entry numbers vary dependent upon location. Run over seven days, the event is made up of two days for registration and measurement followed by five days of racing, finishing with the prize giving ceremony on the last day.
When submitting a bid you should provide a full budget. Organisers shall provide a minimum of three budgets based on the minimum, maximum and expected number of competitors. If there is a requirement for a variable number of race areas then further budgets should be provided for each increment in race areas. You will also need to complete the Bid Document (below).
It may be useful to view details of previous European Laser Masters Championship events in 2007, 2008 or 2009
Please carefully read all the documents and information provided to ensure that your venue has all the on-shore and water-based facilities required for this event. We strongly recommend that you liaise with the International Contact (IC) for your district in the preparation of your bid.
Once you have discussed the requirements for this event with the relevant parties (IC, host club, sponsors, etc), please fill in the bid form, create the budgets (minimum of 3 required) and email these to ILCA along with a covering letter. Please send a copy of your email to the IC.
If you don't know who the IC for your district is, please visit our Contacts pages.
A short list of all bids will be created by the European Region Executive Committee. The European Districts will then take a vote on the shortlist before the end of May 2010.
