World Laser 4.7 Youth Championship 2008

CROATIA, Trogir

The World Youth Laser 4.7 Championship 2008 is an allocated event available to entrants who will be 12 years old but not 18 years old in 2008.

To enter sailors must first complete an application for entry. For more information on the new ILCA "Application for Entry" process please read the International Circular 213

Charter Boats

A limited number of charter Lasers will be available. These will be offered to sailors who have registered for a place and been allocated a place in the first round allocations in the following priority:
first priority to non-European sailors,
second priority to European sailors travelling the furthest distance taking into account sea crossings.

If there are still charter boats remaining after the first allocation of places they will be offered at the discretion of the supplier, subject to availability, on the above priority at regular intervals until all boats are allocated or until the final shipping date.

Sailors who have registered an interest for charter when making their application are automatically included on the charter request list.

Charter Boats will be available from 21st August and include hull with self-bailer and padded toe strap, spars, centreboard, rudder, mainsheet side cleats, control line deck block fitting with blocks and control line deck cleat fitting with cleats. Competitors must provide their own ropes, boom vang, mainsheet block, traveller blocks, sail, battens and tiller.

Charter boats cost £475 (GBP) plus a returnable £150 (GBP) damage deposit.

The venue for the championship is Trogir in Croatia, please see the google map of the area on which is marked the boat parking area and race offices and the two sailing areas.

Location

Trogir (population 10,000) is located 25km west from the major Croatian port and town of Split. Established in 3rd century BC it is a popular and attractive small holiday town. It is a UNESCO heritage site.

The main highway connecting the coast of Croatia to central Europe is 40 km from Trogir. The airport of Split offering charter and regular flights is 4 km to the north east of the town. There are several ferry companies operating from Italy to Split. Nearest ferry port is located in Split. Companies connecting Split with nearby islands and Italy are: Jadrolinija, Blue Line, Split Tours.

The boat park location is on the town island of Trogir marked on the Google map above. This is an area of water front land being developed as an exclusive Laser boat park with direct access ramps into the harbour. Showers and changing rooms are located in the nearby football club. Road trailer and car parking is available nearby the boat park.
